    Beware Thunderbolt port
    May 8, 2012
This adapter did not work for me on either 13" MacBookPro or MacMini (models A1278, A1347) new in Spring 2012. These have a zig-zag arrow by the mini-displayport socket, which means that they are also Thunderbolt ports. I saw no VGA signal, even after resetting SMC and PRAM/NVRAM (google "2011 2.3 Mac Mini VGA Signal Quit" or search Apple Support Communities) and waiting 2 minutes for MacOSX to boot, and trying multiple monitors. The fault may be Apple's. PCH Cable's MiniDisplayPort to DVI adapter (and Apple's HDMI to DVI adapter) worked, but my projector is VGA only.
    Pros$5 less than Apple's adapter
    ConsDidn't work for me.

Does what it supposed to for $5 cheaper than the official Apple product. Cool! Thanks PCH!
