I bought this cable to replace one I used to connect my laptop to a set of speakers for movie viewing. The previous, unshielded cable - dirt cheap at that - would create loud static feedback if I so much as breathed too close to it.

This cable isn't much more expensive, but it creates a much more secure connection and I can move my laptop without praying to the soundtech gods to keep the speakers quiet.

Based on my satisfaction with this cable, I'll continue ordering cables through PCH from here on.

This cable, especially in the 25-foot version, should have ferrite cores to supress noise picked up along it's length. It is shielded though and is reasonably quiet. For a basic ""remote"" computer speaker attatchment it is just right and so was the price and the shipping. I actually fished it through a wall so the ferrite cores may have been a nuisance in that respect.
