I used this to connect my macbook to a samsung 42" LCD. This adapter works as advertised and is much cheaper than those found at the apple store.

Does everything it's supposed to do

This adapter does everything it's supposed to. HDMI can carry audio, unfortunately the Apple Macbook doesn't output audio to the Mini DVI port. We need an adapter that has HDMI on one end, and the Mini DVI plug plus a 1/8 stereo headphone plug at the other. Then you could plug both audio and video into an HDMI port.

I bought this along with the 10 Foot (3 Meter) HDMI Male to Male Cable, to connect my new Macbook to my digital TV. After a few initial issues it works fine. Would recommend this combo if you want to use your Mac to watch movies on your TV.
