I used this to connect my macbook to a samsung 42" LCD. This adapter works as advertised and is much cheaper than those found at the apple store.Great value

This adapter does everything it's supposed to. HDMI can carry audio, unfortunately the Apple Macbook doesn't output audio to the Mini DVI port. We need an adapter that has HDMI on one end, and the Mini DVI plug plus a 1/8 stereo headphone plug at the other. Then you could plug both audio and video into an HDMI port.Macbook hook-up
