Looking at the prices at electronic stores and high end speaker shops for 14 gauge speaker wire is as funny as seeing what people are charging for HDMI cables. IT'S ABSOLUTELY HILARIOUS AND FRIGHTENING AT THE SAME TIME! My best friend has a BS in physics and a masters in electrical engineering. He and a college buddy tested out 2 sets of speaker wires, one expensive and one not so expensive. He said that the difference in frequency and sound wouldn't be able to be detected by human ears but that you had to have had the equivalent of K9 hearing to be able to tell the difference.
